We are pleased to invite your leadership to visit Israel, one of the world’s most innovative and
dynamic economies, between May 26 th  and June 1 st , 2019. This delegation will be focused on
the high-tech and advanced manufacturing industries with an emphasis on R&D education, and
building new relationships with potential clients and suppliers.
 
Israel’s innovation eco-system is a key part of their global R&D strategy, as is evident in the fact
that the country hosts over sixty multinational corporations within a national population of less
than ten million. Israel is rightly renowned globally as the ‘start-up nation’.  Ranked 10 th  in the
world in Bloomberg’s 2018 Innovation Index, Israel is second in the world for total amount spent
on research and development at 4.3% of GDP and it has more companies listed on the
NASDAQ than any other foreign country apart from China.  Israel has more start-ups per capita
than any other country and is second only to the United States overall.  It is geographically at
the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa and with the Western legal and cultural norms,
making it an ideal place to expand your business globally.
 
As part of this trade delegation, we will facilitate meetings with important industry umbrella
organizations such as the Israel Advanced Technology Industries, the Canada-Israel Industrial
Research and Development Foundation, the Israeli Innovation Authority, and leading sector-
specific accelerators.  Delegates will have the opportunity to attend several world-leading
technology conferences including the Robotics and Automation Conference, the New-Tech
2019 Exhibition, and the Israeli Startup Conference.  Please see the enclosed pages for
more information about these conferences.  Please let us know if you might be interested in
speaking or having a booth at any of these conferences and we will try to facilitate it.
 
A valuable component of the itinerary for this delegation is the coordination of B2B meetings for
each delegate while in Israel. We have assembled a team dedicated to setting up these
meetings for you. When you sign up to join this delegation, we will be asking you to tell us what
kinds of companies, clients, suppliers, you would like to link up with so that we can build a list of
potential connections specifically for you. With this in mind, if you are already aware of a
business in Israel that would be a good fit for your business, please do let us know so that we
can reach out on your behalf.
 
Finally, delegates will be exposed to the rich culture and history of Israel through visits to the
Old City of Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, the Masada fortress, Old Jaffa and other points of
interest.  Renowned for its culinary industry and cultural programming, you won’t miss out on
everything Israel has to offer.
 
The expected cost per delegate with today’s exchange rate is $4,499.00 for Chamber members
& $5,499.00 for non-members; this includes travel within the country, accommodations, meals,
insurance, tour guide, and access to attend all conferences and tourist sites.  Delegates are
responsible for booking their own flights to and from Israel and taxi to/from the hotel; details of
arrival date and time will be provided upon confirmation of participation.

Financial Support
In preparing for this delegation, there is also the opportunity for your company to apply to
the Export Market Access program for financial support associated with an international trade
mission.  The program is an application-based program available to Ontario Manufacturers who
are attending and participating in a foreign market trade show.  Each individual company will be
assessed based on the merits of their application, and the likelihood of finding new international
customers to increase their exports.  Our contact at the Ministry of Economic Development has
indicated that he would be happy to advocate for any of our delegation participants and assist
