NEWSLETTER - MARCH 2021

Happy Retirement!
The Clearview Chamber wishes a heartfelt thank you, congratulations, and best of luck to Marion Spellman of Stayner’s long-standing gift store, Knit ‘N’ Kaboodle. Marion is holding a 50% sale and will be retiring once her stock is gone. Marion has been in business for 42 years and has been a strong supporter of the Chamber. Stayner will not be the same without her and her store on the main street.
All the best to you Marion, and here’s to your next wonderful chapter!

Tickets will be sold at select locations (TBA), as well as online. More info to come later and we thank you for your donation!

New Flower Planters
Clearview Township is ordering new flower planters for downtown Stayner. These new planters (pictured below) will match those already in use in Creemore, giving these two Clearview downtowns a cohesive look. The proposed use of our old flower planters in other Clearview villages was discussed at length by the Chamber, and much more discussion is needed to find a good solution to the challenges of where to put them, budget, and watering issues. This will therefore be addressed for next summer. If members have suggestions for planters in other Clearview locations please let us know and we will discuss it.

Music Market & Park It
Thank you to John Squire Sr. for Chairing the music portion of the Stayner market again this year! The bands are booked and we are hopeful the market will go ahead as planned starting on June 3rd. We are still looking for sponsors, so if you are interested in sponsoring one of the evenings please contact John at lionjss@hotmail.com to reserve your date and sponsor level. In the event the market cannot move forward due to COVID restrictions, there will be no penalties or cancellation fees for the bands or sponsors, and any funds provided will be refunded if the market is canceled.

Clearview Chamber Business Awards
The Clearview Chamber Business Awards are being pre-recorded and posted on-line this year. The awards categories have been amended to more closely reflect the Clearview Chamber’s Mission Statement. The Chamber now has 10 Business Awards:

The FEO recognized events and industry members in 2019 and 2020 that were able to “Adapt – Pivot – Evolve” – strong industry pillars during the pandemic, at their Achievement Awards held during the virtual Summit this February. Clearview Canada Day Celebrations – organized by the Chamber and in conjunction with the Creemore BIA, Stayner Lions Club, Stayner & District Kinsman and Stayner Heritage Society, won an Achievement Award.
