The Clearview Chamber of Commerce has been asked to represent our local business owners at Clearview Council on the topic of changing the designation of our area to a tourist destination. Ward 1 Councillor Phyllis Dineen’s motion to consider a bylaw to declare the township a tourism area was unanimously given the green light by Council. If passed, it will allow retailers to stay open on stat holidays if they choose.
The next step is to ask the public for its opinion on the idea and we anticipate a public meeting on the topic as part of the April 12th council meeting. In preparation for this meeting, please fill out our brief and anonymous 3-question survey on your opinion about making Clearview Township a tourism area.
